How far do you travel for jobs?
We serve a 60-mile radius from Stephenville, covering Erath, Parker, Hood, Somervell, Comanche, Bosque, Hamilton, Eastland and Palo Pinto Counties.
Are you insured?
Yes, Ten-Eight Land Services is fully insured. We’re happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.
How quickly can you start my project?

Forestry mulching uses specialized equipment to grind trees, brush, and vegetation into mulch on-site. Unlike traditional land clearing, the material stays on your property as a protective mulch layer that prevents erosion, suppresses weeds, and enriches soil.
What is the difference between forestry mulching and land clearing?
Land clearing is a broad term covering any method of removing vegetation. Forestry mulching is a specific technique that processes material on-site. We use mulching for most projects because it’s faster, more eco-friendly, and eliminates hauling costs.
What are the benefits of forestry mulching?
Forestry mulching preserves topsoil, prevents erosion, suppresses weed regrowth, enriches soil over time, reduces wildfire risk, eliminates burning and hauling, and is faster than traditional clearing methods.
How much does forestry mulching cost per acre in Texas?
Pricing varies based on vegetation density, terrain, and access. Light vegetation typically runs $1,500–$2,500/acre; medium density $2,500–$3,500/acre; heavy brush or cedar can be $3,500+/acre. Our minimum job is $2,750. We provide free on-site estimates for accurate pricing.
How long does forestry mulching take?
In medium-density brush, our machines clear approximately 1 acre per day. Light vegetation can be 1.5+ acres/day. Dense cedar thickets may take longer. We’ll give you a specific project timeline during your free quote.

Does cedar come back after mulching?
Cedar killed by mulching does not resprout from the root system — making mulching one of the most permanent cedar control methods available. Unlike mechanical grubbing, which can leave viable root material, mulching destroys the plant at ground level.
What's the best time of year for cedar removal in Texas?
Cedar can be removed year-round in Texas. Many ranchers prefer fall and winter when the ground is firmer and heat stress on equipment is lower, but we work year-round based on your schedule.
How much water does cedar removal save?
Studies show cedar removal can increase water yield by 10–30% on treated properties. A single mature cedar can consume 30+ gallons of water per day — water that should be feeding your native grasses and stock tanks.
Pricing & Scheduling
What is your minimum job size?
Our minimum job is $2,750 (one machine/day). We prefer larger properties of 5+ acres where our equipment is most efficient, but we evaluate every project individually.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — a 25% deposit is required to hold your spot on our calendar. The balance is due upon project completion.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept check, cash, and electronic payment. Contact us for specific payment options.
Is there a mobilization fee?
Yes, a mobilization fee applies to all jobs and is determined by distance and equipment requirements. This will be clearly included in your written estimate — no surprises.
